What Makes DEKKA Waveskis Work and.... Why are my Fins so far Back?  An Explanation from Neil.

At this stage, you will feel like your ski is very hard to turn and most likely you will want to move the back fin forward.

It’s at this stage you should stay in the water and try a few things. On the next wave you take off on, when you go to do your bottom turn, throw the ski into your turn as hard as you can and wait and feel the resistance coming from your fins, but also noticing that the ski didn't slide out !

You have just found out what I discovered about ten years ago when I first did this. The only difference, my learning this was through a lot of trial and error.

Once you have felt this hard resistance in the turns, you then must gradually move you centre fin forward in small increments until you can still get your ski to turn as hard and fast as you can, but without your tail sliding out.

Note that if you are having trouble finding the right spot for the centre fin, you might need to look at where you have the outside fins. Remember! The outside fins should be under the back edge of your seat belt. There is about a 1 inch window of movement with your outside fins so play around to find the right spot.
